I think we have all settled in well into our roles and managed to get into a steady work routine. Nevertheless, we all appreciate the afternoon school sessions once a week since working can be quite tough and exhausting.
During these school sessions, our focus remains on preparing for the upcoming Cambridge exam. Usually, we solve a practice test every week, and now, every single one of us can see how their results keep on improving with every test. After all, I think we can all agree that a big part of the improvement of our English happened on behalf of our new everyday life. English has become our primary mode of communication throughout the day, whether it be with our host families, new friends, or within our workplace. One might even think that the German language has already slipped our minds a bit.
As we have now already spent over a month and a half in Ireland, some of us are expecting friends and family visiting from Switzerland. This gives us a unique opportunity to show them our new home. Owing to the fact we have spent so much time in Dublin already, we know the city well and have no problems with guiding our visitors around the city.
Simultaneously, we are actively planning or taking the first big trips. Some of us want to visit the United Kingdom, while others are keen on exploring various regions within Ireland, such as Belfast, Galway, or Cork.
Ultimately, I think we can all agree that we are really grateful for this experience, and our time in Dublin has been fantastic so far.»
