I never imagined visiting Ireland, let alone living here for six months, but here I am making the most of every moment.
I believe Dublin is the perfect place to learn English. The city is a mix of nationalities and cultures, allowing us to connect through our shared goal of improving our English. It’s amazing how the language can bring us together and help us learn from each other.
My family visited me recently, so I booked a trip to the Giant’s Causeway. On the way, we stopped in Belfast to learn about its history with the help of a "black taxi" driver. He guided us through the streets where brutal events took place during the Belfast conflict. While translating his words for my father, he recalled hearing about the violence in Belfast over 30 years ago in Kosova.
Walking through these historic streets was emotional, but it reminded us how important it is to talk about history to keep it alive. By remembering, we honor those who suffered and ensure the lessons of the past are not forgotten.
Living abroad has not only given me insight into a new culture but has also taught me about the different connections we share.
