«And like that, our time in Dublin has come to an end. Last Saturday, we took off from Dublin Airport to Zurich Airport. We were excited to return to our routine and see our friends and family. Those who did not come home over Christmas break may were a bit more than the others, but everyone was thrilled.
It was sad, of course, leaving our host families, with whom we spent almost six months, by a week, though some may keep in contact in the future.
The last week in our host company was also emotional as we came close with our work colleagues and were dejected to leave them somehow behind. Some companies gave us something small for their appreciation of what we did for them over the past five months, like a card or a souvenir from the company, and some even said they would welcome us back as part of their team.
My company’s office was closed on Friday for some construction work, so I took advantage of my day by visiting Galway. It was a very pleasing city, but as in all of Ireland, there were strong gusts here and there, leaving us feeling as if the wind would take us with him.
I think we currently may say we will not miss Ireland. However, I give us around a week or two to say, «Yeah, I wish I was there right now.»
As far as I can tell, certain classmates may revisit Dublin to reunite with friends, host family, and colleagues they have connected with during our stay.»
